He's trying to get everyone to dox themselves by limiting content and access to accounts that don't pay the $8/month while the place is still overrun by bots, shitcoin scammers and continued arbitrary censorship
Platforms cannot stand for free speech. They'll always get captured whether it's a public company or private company
Open protocols win. Nostr has no gatekeepers, no way for government to capture or censor, unlimited potential for anyone to build any kind of social application
Let's educate more people about the importance of open protocols and value4value with no intermediaries or gatekeepers
Yeah I just saw this morning that you can flag someone for questioning 9/11, total joke. I’m a bit reluctant around Jack Dorsey too though, I don’t believe he was just an innocent baby that didn’t know they were censoring terribly. I appreciate his support of this app, but still.
You are free to do so, but the communication and community are different.
Nostr is more constructive, with people supporting each other. Lots of GM/GN and building.
Twitter is more destructive, with more fighting, criticism and tearing down.
Ok, I just would rather not have to come up w new stuff cause I only have so much social media commentary to give. Agree Twitter is lame in a lot of ways. So glad my friend got me to download this :) I feel way more productive albeit confused w some of the features. Met the founder and his lovely wife at dinner in Prague, they were super kind and offered some hot tips.

A lot of tags on nostr end with “str” for example… foodSTR artSTR footSTR. So just pick a topic you like. Add “str” at the end and look for people with the same interests. Also a great place to begin is #plebchain or #grownostr
