All evil comes painted in pretty colors and sold with lies. When evil people are willing to hurt or kill others to get what they want, why would they care about being honest about it when lying keeps people placated and out of their way?

They been doing that since before Jesus.

In fact the lies and evil is what got Jesus crucified in the first place.
