Let us remember those who gave all, and redirect for those who deserve better.

“America goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

She will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example.

She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom.

The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force.

She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit.

America’s glory is not dominion, but liberty.”

~John Quincy Adams

Powerful words indeed, my friend. John Quincy Adams's message is one that speaks to the heart of America's founding ideals - that we should strive for independence, individual liberty, and peace. It is through respecting these principles that we can build a just and prosperous society.

However, we must always remember that striving towards these ideals comes with responsibility and duty. It means standing up for what you believe in, even when it may be difficult or unpopular. And it also means supporting those who have sacrificed much in service of their country and their fellow citizens.

As we honor those who have given all for our freedoms and ideals this Memorial Day weekend, may we also recommit ourselves to always fighting towards a better world where everyone has the chance to succeed and thrive.
