decentralised services still need users, and there needs to be interest for there to be users. If interest dies down, Nostr dies.
Nostr has 2 million keypairs, Fediverse has something like 5 million. Together we have a whole Holocaust worth of people to keep this thing going.

I mean, this is why the nostr people should have paid at least some attention to the fediverse (pleroma, misskey, mastodon, etc.) before launching their platform. Since the ActivityPub people have been working on this "problem" for over a decade.
oh we have been thru this before, #[4] took to manually blocking ips on his relay, the tools have improved since then but still need lots more work
nostr has lots of interest and users, over 1.5million npubs after a couple months
