probably both?

Right, could be, some combination of "that's good enough" and "this guy's on our side and has said something cool".
this uber intolerance of our times makes it almost impossible for readers to appreciate something if it doesn’t share the same values of the tribe, no matter how good the work is. niches are, more than ever, the given reality — and we may say there are basically two nowadays. good ol’ times when they used to be multiple and interchangeable.
I agree. It is a strange thing compared to where we were before. Before it was maybe 90% normal polite learrning, information, debate and 10% insults. Now it is the other way round as soon as I post something on Twitter. Hyper bubbleisation or extreme polarised tribalisation or whatever we want to call it. Instead of some fun "gotchas" from time to time, now it feels like a race to see who can come up with the most contemptuous personal insult as quickly as possible, and other thousands of followers "like" and retweet the insults and contempt. Giga-chad thug culture or something.
precisely why I like it here (so far), been a while since I left twitter. but worry not, brother, the great reset will redeem us.
That's the question, isn't it. Will Nostr be able to keep all of that polarised tribal nonsense away or is it inevitable over time as more people pile in because, well, humans?
indeed. one factor that could make the difference, though: here, you can’t delete your nonsense. in the end, who could guess, the more freedom you have, the more responsability. thus tolerance?
