I have a very bad feeling that cbdc will be eaten up by the masses. There are so many ways to position it as a good thing and if people don’t pause to think (they won’t) they won’t understand why it’s a terrible idea.

This is why I said all effort should probably focus on one anti-cbdc point: potential silencing of speech.
Tie it into the dictatorship talking point and US may just reject it.
Also just general freedom...I've had success pointing out to an obese friend that a CBDC could theoretically be used to prevent him from going to his favourite restaurant every night.
I'm a shitlord. I wish he'd stop eating junk. But the idea (actually voiced by a politician in my country) that he could be banned from spending his own money on junk does not sit well with me at all.
