Slightly better than filet. I'm pretty sure filet mignon being considered a good cut is a scam by butchers to get us to overpay for their garbage.

I prefer NY strip, but fillets give your jaw a break at least. It’s more of a texture thing.

It’s a pretty good scam for butchers to price fix like that!
