Primal for iOS build 1.8.6 has been released. Here is what we have for you:

- DMs: performance improvements

- Network settings: enhanced privacy

- Network settings: set caching service

- Overall stability improvements

Our main goal with this release was to solidify the existing functionality and make the app more performant. Let us know what else we should improve in that area. Moving forward, stay tuned for a MAJOR update and a ton of new functionality targeted for the end of August. 👀

Primal doesn’t work with Orbot VPN when turned on ( iOS ) relays disconnected

Are you having these issues just with Orbot or any VPN? Also, are you able to connect via other iOS nostr apps (Damus or Nostur)?

I cannot connect to these 2 with my Mullvad VPN on. But this reminds me of Tor browser for Windows advising not to use VPN simultaneously unless you’re an advanced user. Which, to me, implies complex manual configuration.

Not sure if that complexity is involved with Orbot + Primal iOS + Tor relays.

It would be good to have nostr links in DM’s show up like Damus, meaning they show the post rather than just a note text. Usually I have to had a link prefix to notes sent to me to see what notes people send me if they don’t tag me in it directly.
