I'm trying to setup my own bitcoin node, but I am not a tech guy. I've downloaded bitcoin core (3X), I've installed Tor , I've downloaded Sparrow but I'm struggling with the configuration. I'm a true bitcoin believer but it's discouraging not being able to fully participate because I don't have the tech skills. If we want mass adoption, user friendly is a must. I've watched a few tutorials but I can't find any for this latest version of bitcoin core. #introductions #nostr #bitcoin

Nobody does it the way your trying to.

Install #Umbrel. Use #Umbrel to install everything else.

Yeah I'd also recommend some small dedicated machine that you can leave on 24/7 to do this. There are several of these like umbrel, start9, etc.

You can purchase them, or more fun to build yourself! But yeah, it inevitability gets a bit techy and you will probably expand your IT knowledge in the process. Though umbrel makes it super easy. Step by step instructions here. 🤓

thank you!

so I need a raspberry Pi to use UmbrelOS. 4 or 5?

No, umbrelos can run on many other systems as well but it can also run on a raspberry pi. For a 24/7 bitcoin node best to get a raspberry pi with 2tb external hard drive, set it up, plug directly into router. You access it via your browser on PC on same network or via Tor from anywhere.
