This looks insane!
Wow! Looks very well designed, minimal clicks, beautiful graphics!
I understand that it's important for new users to get some initial content, but I am not a fan of every client just offering the same 10-50 nost followed nostr-celebrities to start.
Nostr is much more diverse and IMHO the onboarding process should offer profiles based on interests / topics. Maybe even a way to follow specific hashtags to find people to follow.
thank for your feedback, I will add more people, maybe fetch trending profiles from nostr.band, and add option to skip this step
Id explore interest-based. Who you follow will be the primary reason for dropping off. This is a major problem in nostr right now.
Fetching trending profiles would diversify a bit more, but it's also the same people that trend for the most part.
Consider using a "Tribes" intro.
Tribes can be a group of users that have things in common.
Introduce an "interests" section in the profile settings. Let them work like tags.
Introduce a graph of common interest offerings.
Then offer a list of initial followers based on that and what the new person enters as interests.
Design on this is π₯
Looking great thus far. I'm always excited to see new Nostr clients pop up. Keep up the great work.
Going on App Store or standalone?
Nice to see another well designed (from what I can tell) client!
So clean! Looking forward to checking it out!
Is Lume pronounced loom or loomey?
Itβs pronounced βloomieβ https://youtu.be/aXaGYaE5EFs

I was literally thinking about this for the past week whenever I looked at the "who to follow" section on nostr:npub1plstrz6dhu8q4fq0e4rjpxe2fxe5x87y2w6xpm70gh9qh5tt66kqkgkx8j . Would love curated tabs or something with differented people to follow from different interests like gaming or gamedevs in my case, anime/manga or comics, traveling, finance, marketing, tech, art/artists, etc.
With that said, I'm also trying to push gaming and gamedev content here on nostr with appropriate hashtags so that when people from said spaces come on and search for key words and hashtags, then find my content, as well as hopefully find some of the initiatives on here, like "Gadstr" nip-05 and relay for gamedevs and the community for gaming on nostr.kiwi.
I'd want to cover my spaces I'm in, but limiting myself to not burnout. Hopefully clients will make finding such content from different interests easier/smoother.
how do we test this?
I will release public build on tomorrow, if you want to test it now, you can run from source, just pnpm install then pnpm tauri dev π github.com/luminous-devs/lume

Using it and loving it!
Very clean π
I really enjoy the open thread button.
Feels a bit weird to not have a cursor pointer anywhere though (on Mac at least).

Beautiful visual design!!
