There is a TON of that, but at the end of the day, all software has bugs. You can build things to be very resilient, but most corporations don’t care to do that

I'm sure the economic realities don't really align for it either. In was thinking more that in very secure systems that can't fail like an airplane I think they have a physical security backup never just software. So its not an unknown problem in engineering.

Yes and no. I’ve only worked in the purely software world where failure does not risk safety and there is definitely an element of economic calculation to do, but most times it’s severely under invested in, even when the business is doing well.
