Is it just me, or does it seem like psychologists are just professional assholes?

I’ve never found a male psychologist that I meshed with… kinda see your point
They are like voodoo magic people who are so experienced in life and know if WAY better than you do! I’m sure their life is in complete order
In my experience, the only reason they go into the profession is to figure out wtf is wrong with them. While they are on this endless journey they get to look down on everyone, call them names and give them drugs. I honestly dont know how they can ger over their mental problems when they have that kind of power over so many vulnerable people.
Couldn’t agree more!
Some not all, it just depends how often they get laid. lol
That’s just you. Both therapists I’ve had have been good people.
I did work with a good therapist once, but he wasnt a psychologist. It was interesting working with him, all he would do is listen, not give any advice whatsoever, and tell me that I'm normal. I went to him after a breakup and not to focus on the pain, but to identify why i was in a pattern of seeking dysfuctional women. However, I get the feeling I could have achieved the opposite results if I had presented myself as a messed up, angry, paranoid and violent person.
I see plenty of people go in to talk to these people, looking for help, and all they get is a label, free access to a pharmacy of narcotics, and never any improvement.
I could write out an entire phiolsophical treatise about what is wrong with the field of psychology, but ultimately it boils down to a pattern of behavior of a certain architype in terms of who these people are. The result is people going around blaming their life problems on an irrepairable disease requiring medication and are given a new aberrant self identity they can never escape.
