Bitcoin is institutional grade.

Monero is freedom grade money for the people.

"I've been warning Bitcoin developers for ten years that privacy needs to be provided for at the protocol level. This is the final warning. The clock is ticking." - Edward Snowden

The people NEED a savings vehicle. Snowden is legit, but not God. If he has a bip to bring privacy and no tradeoffs, he should share it.

Monero is a scam:

Giacomo Zucco and Tony Vays. Totally not bias AT ALL πŸ™„

Here is a more nuanced video with Giacomo that isnt a circle jerk and actually has someone there to pushback

this is some bullshit right here lol

anycoin anything can happen - that why we have P2SH SWAP onchain when it happens or known

What BIPs do you think should be implemented to give Bitcoin base lever privacy?

centralized SERVICE PROVIDER will ALWAYS END UP IN JAIL unless have government license - samurai wasabi more in future

code is not easy to be put on trial

What are the tradeoffs for those privacy gains though? Because on a global scale, "freedom grade money for the people" would become impossible for the average person to store. I'd love for Bitcoin to be private without me jumping through hoops, but I value running my own nodes realistically more.

I'm game for hearing the proposals.

Since Monero came out I’ve told people it’s going to be the money of the people and Bitcoin will be the money of Kings/Lords!! Of course it would be wise for the kings to also own silver βœ…βœ…

Monero badly leaks data it shouldn't (https://moneroleaks.xyz). LN is actually privacy for BTC from what I've been reading.

LN leaks payment amounts to third party nodes along a route.

Monero completely hides the amount you're sending to your counter party from all nodes on the network - even if you're using someone elses node.

LN privacy sounds great in theory, but no one uses it like that, it's moot when 95% of users are on things like Strike or Wallet of Satoshi that can see everything their users are doing (because the bar to achieve good privacy on LN is higher than Monero)

Protocols come in layers. Don't fuck with the base layer, build the privacy in layer 2 and or layer 3. Look at Fedi. Fedi is factoring in the fact that privacy isn't what it need to be in the base layer and building the necessary privacy on top.
