... How so? Nostr, yes, but Bitcoin has been KYCed to high heaven for years now, and the only way to avoid that is to use a DEX but a DEX basically requires KYC upstream because all the payment apps demand it.
It's exactly why the only BTC I hold comes from zaps. KYC, much like CBDCs and digital ID, is supremely dangerous and the end of all freedom.

I mean, like I said, buying via a DEX also requires KYC upstream due to payment apps unless you're the wild sort that's willing to send cash by mail or something like that.

Don't have a single friend who uses any sort of cryptocurrency, let alone Bitcoin. I also definitely do not like the idea of cash by mail, too risky even with an escrow involved.
You can make Bitcoin friends. That's what I did. Build your network. Go to meetups. Build trust.
Lol not when you live in a rural small town whose populace is overwhelmingly elderly people and farming families. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to spare on going to meetups even if there were any nearby (there aren't). As I've said in the past, I believe in the tech behind Bitcoin and I believe in its goals, but it just doesn't work for me, personally. Not at this point in my life, at least. I'd love for that to change, however.

it definitely defines the problem. marketing/engagement helps to signal the solution.
