I disagree, as-is my Nostr DMs are still the most private communication available to me (everything else has a back door, including Signal, of course)

Though adopting a standard to improve privacy is obviously welcomed

I’ve heard good things about how Simplex operates

Could be as simple as DM addresses derived from pubkeys… the same thing that improved privacy on Bitcoin

Maybe an initial handshake between two people followed by rotating multisig-style addresses? Idk what I’m talking about, I’m just a frog 🐸
