It feels kinda like the browser wars, in that; one day we used the one browser everyone used. A few options emerged and it was self evident that you could use whatever browser you chose.

Browsers have evolved and so will the nodes, wallets and apps.

Except that one of the “browsers” in this case could threaten the value proposition of the entire network, and opening it and its users up to state attacks. And is doing so blatantly versus consensus.

Yes. In the event that the node apps are compromised- we pivot to better one(s).

Bitcoin wont die - it will evolve. =).
