Nostur, Yakihonne Damus, all 3 are amazing clients at this point.

I spent some time tweaking the settings on the PC desktop version of Yakihonne.

major improvements =)

Yakihonne may require a little more setup than other client apps but don't dismiss it without dialing in some prefrences and adding your relays

With a little tweaking you could make it feel a lot more like other clients, or surprisingly different

I hear Nostr mentioned on the odd podcast more frequently.

I sort of felt that way hearing of friends who “lost money on bitcoin“ or “got scammed”.

I’m curious about adoption network effects.

In my case, video gamer friends from other countries (whom I’ve never met irl) convinced me to mine a little a few years back.

It took a couple of years for me to actually take a serious look at bitcoin.

A few of my family started after a 3-4 years of tolerating me poking. A few more this past couple of years

A small cohort of friends joined in.

Probably about a dozen have taken to bitcoin at my suggestion

I field a lot of questions, a couple of times we’ve hosted on-boarding parties at my home.

Most still think I’m crazy. Some are surprised to hear that I mine for heat.

This episode seemed a little light on Nostr content, ‘cept the freedom to post an opinion part. 😀

A lot of Nostr client updates this year. They’ve all been steadily evolving. Each has their own set of features, aesthetics and quirks.

Damus is still my daily driver. I think because of the way it feels. Predictable, easy to navigate and read.

Primal is slick, possibly the most mainstream but some (like Canadians) will not be able to use the wallet. The search and firehose feed stand out.

Nostur is quickly evolving. Simple looks belie strong features, like delete (which asks the relays to pull your note) a good option for fat fingered people like me.

Yakahonne is a standout for style It kind of has its own culture coming from a Japanese perspective. Long form notes and lots of interesting stuff

Amethyst (Android) I tried this app setting up a friend. Seems very twitter-like.

There are a few browser based / clients for desktop I’m interested in. Although I currently use my phone almost exclusively.

I mean it’s organic in that I just get zap happy when I see something compelling enough to zap. ⚡️

It works tho. I’m both happy to zap and I’m happy to be zapped.

Recently my painting, Me Wàyé (Become Day) was sold at live auction.

It was made specifically for and donated in support of Pearson College They displayed the painting during their 50th Anniversary celebrations this August.

After having the painting appraised by a third party, the gift-in-kind charitable tax receipt was valued at $4000.

Funds raised will go towards supporting student scholarships this academic year.

I have a few nanos, an open air GPU rig, and the recoup of heat expense is real

I have a Loki Urlacher S19 on the way to tie into the HVAC.

I’m stacking, it’s a little at a time for me, but I can put some of my power bill back into my BTC wallet.
