As to the reaction of European to the proposals of the Trump administration, I think that apart from particular interests of different leaders (I agree that it's a great excuse for money printing), the reaction is easy to understand. The terms proposed by the US in agreement with Russia amount to Ukraine's total capitulation, including giving up a part of its territory and handing, over essential aspects of its sovereignty (like control over the size of the army and the ability to join military alliances, NATO in particular) in exchange for weak "security guarantees".

Overall, I understand that nation states in their essence are just glorified gangs. However, the Russian gang just seems to be the worst one, compared to the others (also for their own population).

Well, USA has invaded other countries for much lesser "crimes" than that, so probably they would. However:

1. No such thing (ballistic missile deployment) happened in Ukraine. If I'm mistaken, please provide a source.

2. Most of Europe is in the range of Russian missiles (including weapons deployed in Belarus) and yet nobody invaded Russia.

3. None of this changes the fact that Russia is the invading country and a terrorist state.

Well, it depends on who you ask (in Russian propaganda channels, I've even heard claims of defending the Russian-speaking population from genocide). But really it's just the last chance of a falling empire to keep its imperial status in the region. They couldn't allow Ukraine to leave their sphere of influence and tip the balance of power to NATO's side.
