I'm not on Amethyst at all. This just breaks compatibility between clients. Doing that with kind 1 notes is pretty fucked up.

If they're posting anything in the hopes of being zapped for it, such as artwork, etc, then they ought to care that the majority of the rest of nostr can't see it.
