The really annoying part about people running lightning nodes is, they don't even learn how to get their funds back in case they fuck up. You want to be a payments provider but don't want to learn how to operate your own server?

Well...running a Lightning node involves Networking, Hardware, Software, Bitcoin/Lightning Wallets - not everyone is adept technically in all at the same time.
It is good thing that people run their own Lightning node for privacy, etc. Hence, plebnet.org came into existence. Plebs helping plebs run/recover and run again nodes to expand the Lightning Network.
Tech is evolving and becoming easier to run a node. I personally highly encourage people to run their own node - not necessarily a "routing" but certainly a personal node and join a community of Noderunners to learn and provide/get support.
Lightning Noderunning is a team sport.
