Before seeing your description, I thought it was a frog. After zooming in, I thought I was looking at wood. Then I saw the eyes and feet. Amazing camo!

Yeah they blend in very well with the trees! I came across a pair of them in this tree about 3 years ago so know where to look for them. They seem to return to the same tree.
