In 20 years, the US economy may grow to min of $250T, 10x its current GDP driven by advancements in AI and robotics. Universal Basic Income (UBI) will become the primary source of income for the avg citizen, and fiat currencies will lose their meaning and value. Bitcoin will trade at $10M to $20M per orange coin, but no one will care about the fiat denomination as sats will become the base unit of account.

95% yes but… - reading The Mandibles right now so I see a 5% chance of a huge set back based on my recency bias

agree

UBI concerns me. It sounds like socialism. I want a proof-of-work economy where you get paid for what you produce. I like meritocracy.

Sooner or later UBI will likely be introduced and it may become necessary due to advancements in ai and robotics. However, let’s not conflate two ideas: not having a 9-to-5 job doesn’t prevent you from creating your own proof-of-work. You can pursue art, engineering, or whatever aligns with your personal interests. In fact, the most significant proofs of work in history were all created voluntarily like Newton discovering the three laws of motion, al-Khwarizmi inventing Algebra, or Satoshi creating Bitcoin.
