Anything you like from github apks, and obtanium to keep them up to date. Fdroid works fine as well. And aurora store when necessary for those dirty google dependent apps.
Sideload only for me. Don't want an app store. Will force me to keep it minimal.
Github makes sense though.
Most apps won't have a self contained update flow, so you'll need something like obtanium to avoid running deprecated versions.
