You could use boltz.exchange to send sats to your cold storage (Jade, Coldcard, BitBox, etc.)
When you have a large amount of sats on your custodial wallet, like Walletofsatoshi or Alby, where do you move them to for safety?
I convert them to liquid on nostr:npub1jg552aulj07skd6e7y2hu0vl5g8nl5jvfw8jhn6jpjk0vjd0waksvl6n8n wallet Green where I have my keys.
Do you?
Discussion
I would strongly recommend to have a hardware wallet for large amounts of sats.
So wait when the fees are low?
They are relatively low right now, ~6 sats/vB.
Right now yes, but during the ordinals madness I was able to move from liquid to on-chain with a very low fee
This would also work, and by the way Boltz can do this too.
Yes I know, in fact I use Boltz to swap from lightning to liquid, always with very low fees.
Instead from lightning to on-chain the swap on Boltz is affected by the normal fees of the market at that time
It’s true, but by having your sats in Liquid, you’re trusting the Blockstream federation to peg out your L-BTC when you ask for it. If it’s fine with you, then nothing speaks against that. If you prefer to have real on-chain bitcoin in a hardware storage, you will need to pay the fees sooner or later. Luckily, they’re relatively low now.
