My father-in-law came by over the weekend to help me build a fence in our backyard.

I got a quote to have it done for $7500.

Doing it ourselves is less than $2000.

I'm no handyman, but after this project I feel like I can do anything.

Learning how to use all the tools necessary has been invaluable.

I'm a software engineer, but each day I find myself wanting to leave it and do something that keeps me healthy and active.

I'm grateful for my father-in-law taking the time to guide me through it. The lessons are numerous.

The fence is almost done and I look forward to trying my hand at more jobs before calling a contractor.

It's kinda funny how proud I am of this fence lol. Proof of work will do that I guess.

Hell ya. fortunate where your at you can drop your posts easily and not going thru clay and basically concrete to get them in 👊

We have clay in our soil. Luckily it's a little deeper down than we're going with the posts lol

Phew 😮‍💨 haha. That’s awesome work tho. Looks solid and it’s always great learning more skills 👊

Thank you! Funny part is that we actually built a quarter of it, took it down because it sucked, and then rebuilt what you see in the pic. Learned A LOT lol

That’s awesome. Best lesson. Doing things the right way pays off in long run, even if it means doing it twice.

You're spittin facts!
