Feel good > taste good
This workout got me in crazy wrestling shape back in high school.
Kinda wish I did more of it in college π
Coach Ozzie had me hit this almost every day after practice.
Half the battle was just convincing myself to start.

Been out of competition shape for jiu jitsu since my daughter was born 6 months ago.
Making my way back now with quick workouts that take 30mins or less.
I call them Zapfit workouts β‘
This one got me good π

Back in 2018, I tore two ligaments in my right ankle at a wrestling tourney.
I was coaching the son of a well-off family. They had me see their doctor. Long story short, I ended up getting 2 PRP shots and - in the words of their doc - supercharged the PRP by injecting BPC-157 into my ankle for a couple months.
The ligaments in my right ankle grew back thicker than the ones in my left lol. Took about 6-7 months but I haven't had any issues and made a full recovery.
That's the only time I used peptides and prefer to use sleep and good eating for most things. But it seems to have really helped for that use case.
Meat Pickup Day π₯©
The last couple years, we've made it a priority to get at least some of our food from the source.
It's a simple way to
- Verify what we're eating is of good quality
- Support our local farmers
I highly recommend getting food from a farm near you!

30 Days Ago vs Now ππ½
Consistency + strength work + stretching = progress.
What Iβve been focusing on:
β Static stretching daily
β 1-2x/week strength work for splits
Still a work in progress, but every week feels like a win. This is gonna take awhile π .
Daily Splits Routine Post-Workout
30s hold for each:
Middle Split
1. Standing hamstring stretch
2. Butterfly stretch
3. Pancake Stretch
4. Pigeon Stretch
5. Middle Split
Front Split
6. Long Lunge Stretch
7. Single Leg Foot Grab
8. Front Split
Takes less than 10mins.
Keep it simple.
Learned the above from one of @movementbydavid YouTube videos. Follow him if you're interested in flexibility!

I got flexible from karate, used it in wrestling, and lost a lot of it through life.
Now I want it backβbetter than ever.
Here's how I'll unlock the front/middle splits
β 5mins/week of static work for each

π Tracking progress
How many weeks will take?

Krav maga -> Krav ma-nah
Definitely a tough one. For the fitness piece, I find forcing yourself to show up to the gym is the best remedy.
Once I show up, there's no way I'm leaving without doing something
Those pesky food scientists are dang good at their job
What are the biggest pain points you run into on your health journey?
Hand fighting is the most important thing to learn for wrestling. It should be the main focus of any beginner.
But, it needs to be learned on a solid foundation. That foundation is a wrestling stance.
If you want to learn how to stand and move like a wrestler, look no further!

Now I want to find some junk food labels, remove calories from them and do a side-by-side comparison π
I'm gonna do it

I couldn't agree more!
If it has a lot of ingredients and most of them are hieroglyphics, I'm avoiding it most of the time.
Here's what I think would happen if this was done:
1. Shift from Quantity to Quality
People would be more likely to assess food based on what's in it rather than how much energy it has.
2. Highly-processed food loses some of its pull.
No more "low calorie" or "guilt-free" language on junk food.
3. Unintended Consequences
- Could increase overconsumption of food
- Could trigger new forms of eating disorders
- Junk food companies would find ways to obfuscate bad ingredients or make them look healthier than they are (i. e. natural flavors)
Since I've never looked at calories (even when I cut a TON of weight for wrestling), I don't see much use in them.
Removing them would do more good than bad IMO, but a shift like that would require more education.

We should remove calories from food labels. There needs to be more of a focus on ingredients than calories.
Unpopular opinion?
