Learn to fight.

There are people putting in hours on the mat day in and out.

Don't be pudgy and vulnerable.

Agreed

People think seeing red is a thing.

People underestimate how much energy and cardio you need to Duke it out with someone.

Totally agreed. As a guy who has done 3 different grappling arts…

Most people have no idea how to defend a takedown. Even fewer know how to do a basic break fall to not be KOed on contact with the ground after failing to stop the takedown.

Just learning a little bit of boxing footwork and jabs for distance management, 2 takedowns, breakfalls, and takedown defense, can have you wipe the floor with 80% of the random people you see in a 1-on-1 fight (assuming no weapons involved).

Those are good odds for so little training, but it is honestly true for most men.

Nothing replaces a gun, or armor, for sure. But be prepared or be sorry. And the life lessons, fitness, and confidence the training brings is a value in and of itself too.

Learn to run and learn to shoot.

You'll never find a fair fight on the street.

conflick de-escalation also helps but number one option is to is to run away.

You don't wanna get hurt and you don't wanna go to prison for hurting someone.

But if you can't just run away and you can't de-escalate that's when you want a gun.

You nailed this one.

No one wins in a street fight.

My proudest moments are those when you can deesclate. I'm too chill to even get into verbal arguments so I find these moments extremely rare. I guess I don't have a punchable face lol

Learn how to break a bone then get the hell out of there. Shooting someone has karmic consequences whilst a broken bone is rarely fatal
