Legacy social media was putting barriers on my mind that I was unaware of until I started using Nostr.
I want to hear what you truly want to say and feel, not some censored version of your thoughts. Even if we disagree, our unique perspectives are still important. Imagine if we just all saw things the same way, how dull life would be?

I despise the "I have to guard what I say online" feeling that became common on X.
You have to do it on Facebook but it was always like that - X went from being relatively open and anonymous to being monitored and censored.
It gets you in the habit of reticence which is pernicious at a time in which we NEED free speech.
Exactly! When you have to hold yourself back, you will eventually lose your true self.
