Lots of cypherpunks here so anonymity is definitely encouraged. I would say the ethos is more about quality of engagement. Most of us are a bunch of random nyms who met here in cyberspace because we enjoyed the content and discussions being had in this space. I feel like that is a pretty healthy way to grow a community from ground up.
