It's not really a problem but it's a good reason to limit the number of relays you connect to

To answer that question you must discover to what relays your updated metadata event was published, so the starting point of the investigation would be the client that you used to change it.
Then you must check the Wikifreedia source code to discover how and where it is fetching metadata from.
Using https://github.com/fiatjaf/nak to query purplepag.es and relay.nostr.band, for example, to see what metadata event they have, could give you some insight on what is going on.

And regardless of my "investigation" it doesn't change the fact that #wikifreedia isn't respecting other relays. it's not my job to do an investigation, it's the dev's responsibility to make a product that meets basic standards.

No, you can set the relays in the menu and it reads using outbox
Might be that the profile change event didn’t go to the relays specified on the user’s relay list if they are using a client that is not doing outbox or could be a cache invalidation issue on Wikifreedia. Shipstr, maybe try resetting your IndexDB in your browser; would be the easiest way to diagnose.
Yeah it happens, npub.pro hasn’t been able to fix mine or banner in a couple months and damus isn’t showing my profile picture either
