Why doesn’t Signal just use #nostr nsec keys instead of user names

Or better yet why don’t people just stop using centralized services like Signal and migrate to #nostr altogether

Because anyone can login with your npub and see ALL of your messages?

You can only log in with an nsec and the nsec is secret, so no one other than yourself would be able to log into your account without having your nsec/secret key

The npub key is the public key, which only shows/shares someone’s profile but doesn’t let you login with it

npub (the public key) is basically your web address, nsec (the secret key) is your username and password in one

You can't send messages, but you can read them with the npub.
