if i could use my radeon rx 7800 xt video card fully on BSD i wouldn't be running windows on it - and yes because of fucking wayland, which has halved the progress rate of linux kernel and GUI development
i'm now used to using ss and ip but i hate nano, and i use micro instead, because it's Go and Go is better than Linux and it integrates properly with X
i hate wayland so much, it's the absolute worst thing about modern linux... doesn't work with barrier or synergy, doesn't really work properly with games, vulkan works just fine on X, there just is absolutely no reason for it
you can keep your vi tho, i'll use micro thanks
also, if you survey the tooling that has been put into the common GNU stack now that is written in Go they are all really nice tools, almost like Go programmers actually have some sense about how to actually advance the field
lol, i just ran into this. i have an old intel (braswell) device on my network running debian and after an update after a year of uptime my sound suddenly crapped out because pipewire didnt recognize my output interface anymore. couldnt figure out why, i had to bypass pipewire entirely to get it working again
why cant computers just behave 😮💨
