I bought a powered hdmi to usbc adapter for my phone but I can't seem to get it to mirror the screen. Anyone using #grapheneOS @grapheneOS know how to make this work?

I think only google pixel 8s have this enabled. What phone do you have?

7pro

That's the issue this feature is only enabled on the pixel 8 series from what I read 7 pro has the hardware but google blocked USB displayport in the source code.

Maybe with release of Android 15 it will be enabled but as far as I know now only pixel 8 phones can use this feature.

It kind if blows my mind how slow google has been with desktop mode. Samsung has had samsung Dex for years now and I think its a killer feature.

Enable developer mode by going to settings click about phone on bottom then on the bottom click build number non stop until developer mode enabled. Now go back to settings hit system then developer mode. Use search toggle top right for desktop mode. Click force desktop mode. Enable that. Should work

Really appreciate the suggestion, still doesn't seem to work 😐

Why powered hdmi? Get a hdmi to usbc dongle and then hdmi directly into whatever monitor you desire?

That's what I have, it just allows me to charge at the same time. From what I am reading it seems that pixels have screen sharing via usbc disabled by default, google wanted everyone to use chromecast or something.

When I used to program and do stuff off my android for programming control 4/various home AV set ups, I had to use a non powered 🤷‍♂️🤝

It might not work since you’re using an Os that cripples device specific features.
