OK, I've found a wifi web browsing device with no cameras, microphones, or speakers, but it's not worth mentioning because it uses plastic casing, which I didn't realize until now is going to be a major problem in the search process.
This is sort of like how I can't start a business selling walkie talkies because I've never seen an affordable one without exterior plastic.
I need help finding a way to get safer electronics on the market.
You are hard to please on this one. Plastic is a nonstarter? Maybe custom build metal case for it? Can't be that hard right?
Can't expect everyone to do that + it could ruin signal strength if the device isn't designed for it
Very easy to please though, just want to stop paying for poison and spying that I don't want and start having access to a deal where I pay for electronics I want to use
I'm thinking maybe safer devices just don't exist on the market and the only solution is a campaign of people joining me to demand these products

Well, I hope you find device that meets the criteria. Youre not the only person I've met who had similar stringent tech needs, so maybe there is a market out there, or soon will be

Think about all the people who refused to buy cell phones for years and ended up getting forced into it
People who want these devices probably outnumber people who don't
But people are so brainwashed they let big tech convince them product design choices are based on "what customers want"
Not sure it's huge. Most favor convenience over privacy. Some cypherpunks are even starting to concede that battle from a pod I heard recently (mass interest in privacy). I dunno, just chatting my thought early morning.
Obviously hard to find data on this, but in 2010 only about half the old people had a cell phone. The market is definitely huge and, again, probably bigger than the other market, because while adoption has grown, even the people who had cell phones in 2010 are tired of the problems with them now
2010 a bit dated, but point taken. Assuming reason they don't have one is those you've suggested. Such a device would likely be harder to use (not great for boomer demographic) and I still question assumption that the reasons they don't own have much to do with hardcore privacy concerns, but what do I know really? Not much.

I think(?) the Fiio JM21 meets all the criteria, including metal and glass casing. Took time to find. Probably seen it before but forgot about it.
