I’ve seen this a dozen times and as much as I want to say the same thing, I literally think he was instinctually trying to do that. You notice he grabbed his son with his arm around him when they first stood up, then when realizing this was about to be a *real* problem, he seemed to throw his phone down (or maybe shoved into his pocket), and then immediately turned back around and threw himself over some random adult male and continued to shield him as they ran away.

I legit kinda think in his adrenaline fueled panic he was instinctively protecting the other dude who basically took the place of where his son had been. It’s easy to discount how completely blind people are when you’re in full on panic mode.

That said, I bet the wife was SUPER pissed afterward 🤣
