I've had plenty of problems with non-custodial lightning wallets. Losing funds and all. So, I'm just watching them for now, and I'll try again after they've developed more.

The newer ones like Mutiny and Zeus, I would only use a small amount of funds until they’re more proven and stable. I’ve been using Breez for a couple years and have never lost a channel (knock on wood 😂). Phoenix was good too but with their fee changes due to the new splicing technique I don’t recommend them any more.

Right. Only small loss, no biggie. And you picked the culprits. I'm hoping Alby goes non-custodial, it has always been good to me. Mutiny, Zeus and Phoenix are starting to get a bit technical for this old fart.

Lol 😂 If you just need a good self-custodial Lightning wallet app for sending and receiving payments then Breez is 100% my recommendation. It can’t do asynchronous payments though, so the app has to be open to receive a payment. And because of that, you don’t have a Lightning address for receiving, but you can send to them from the app.

Async payments in a non-custodial manner is a technical limitation with self custodial lightning apps, so it’s not really a Breez issue so much as it’s a lightning issue. Zeus is the closest solution so far to making it possible.

I feel ya 🤞
