The reserve currency system necessitates trade deficits to export USDs. If you're going to tariff those trade deficits then you need a new reserve currency system. If that was the plan you'd see gold rising in the US and talking up other new reserve assets.
I suspect they want to nuke the Fed but can’t openly talk about it—maybe even create something new backed by bitcoin.

It's a big big change if they follow through on any of this. They'll need to nuke the fed if they do. They'll also need to at least pay down the national debt because there will be much less demand for bonds.
The Fed is not going anywhere unfortunately
