The public-service media are portraying the ladies and gentlemen from the security services as heroes who are saving the Christmas season. To me, this is pure socialism. One person digs a hole so that another can fill it back in. The trams there run every 15 minutes – two lines, in two directions. Do the math. Everyone knows why these security measures are necessary in the first place, but no one talks about it. Instead, a symptom is addressed with symbolic politics rather than tackling the actual root cause.
