Youād probably like the The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss.
Books 1&2 were pretty good but the last of the trilogy has been delayed for over a decade so maybe a prudent warning there for expectation managementā¦

I said the same for non sci-fi fiction that is a great one
Another probably not mentioned because the movie / shows were more kiddish but is a good read is the northern lights trilogy starting with "golden compas" if you kids are a little older you could read it to them as well. Big books though. Love the soul is outside of your body in the other dimension.
