Sunday trading is evil. Not for religious reasons but more cos it wipes out mum and dad businesses. Megacorps can just hire a low paid teenager to work while little corner stores don't have the systems to 'manage' them.

The downside of all this of course is the souless cashier at that mega chain that isn't interested to talk or the unenthusiastic person who vaguely tells you the aisle for beans.

Mum and dad businesses are where the good stuff lies. The intimate knowledge of what's good. Whats in season and why they get their free range eggs from farmer Bob down the road. Its where the majority of innovation and diversity comes from too.

Mum and dad businesses have their disadvantages tho. Prices, variety, lack of bulk buying and more.

But #smallshopsunday is important for a brighter future.
