Wouldn't that make nostr the same as all the others.. ??
The word filter I get but I like nostr because it's different.
Next level, evolutionary different.

What aspect is making this different? I don't mean bitcoin-less as in getting rid of zaps/lightning, I mean a filter which gets rid of the chat about stacking and zapping. The functions would still exist. And (imo) work better as background, I'm not a strong believer in evangelism tho (in any form really).
...cos it's not efficient. And tbh as far as I can see it is actually having the opposite effect by turning users off.
This is 100% what’s happening and it’s sad because it’s ruining a good opportunity.
Luckily there are some stubborn users who will stick around lol and users who want to stick around to see if it evolves beyond a bitcoin telegram group. But it's undoubtedly putting off the majority of the people dipping in to see what is going on.
Nostr isn’t meant to be bitcoin circlejerk, how does that benefit anyone? The focus should be making a censorship resistant social network, not integrating silly tipping features to send other ppl 1/10000th of a cent.
I think the tipping system could be a pull to 'content creators', but they just want it to work. They won't want to talk about it or see it mentioned all day along with bitcoinisms all day everyday lol. But I p much agree, the censorship resistance part is probably the headline factor.
Too bad none of the client devs seems to feel that way.
I do see the confusion with my 'bitcoin-less' phrasing, sorry. I personally wouldn't take such a hard-line and get rid of zaps, but it would be interesting if a client did so that. I was more meaning a client that by default filtered out all bitcoin chatter.
