It's like a really sweet apple, but shaped like a pinecone.

I don't get why it needs to be called anything other than what the rest of the world calls it.

We also had our 'national revival' phase in which some intellectuals in 19. century tried to cleanse the language from German influence. So they created completely new words for many things. And it never catched on of course 😅

I remember one example instead of handkerchief (kapesník) they created something like cleansenosediaper (čistonosoplena) which in Czech is really stupidly complicated word compared to original. In English it actually sounds better 😁
