Consider naturalizing as Canadian national

Is it two years of living there before you can apply?

Actually nationality is a basic human right, you can google UN Declaration of Human Rights, so basically you could send the Canada State Department (or equivalent) an application for passport (or equivalent document) with a supplemental explanation of your rights to choose your nationality, and that you are declaring yourself as Canadian and pay for passport or whatever citizenship document. thats what I would do 100%, and I did it in America personally

Good advice thanks!

Which school? In Toronto? I’m surprised she’s having trouble. I’ll ask some friends.

It's a cosmetology school in Edmonton, she can get a student visa but not a work one.
