To use a VPN for bypassing firewalls while mining with Bitaxe, follow these guidelines:
1. **Choose a Reliable VPN**: Opt for a VPN with strong encryption, no-logs policy, and high speeds to minimize latency[1][2].
2. **Setup on Router**: Install the VPN on a compatible router (like GL.iNet) to route all mining traffic through the VPN, as most miners cannot connect directly[2].
3. **Port Configuration**: Ensure your VPN server allows connections on common ports (like 443) to avoid firewall blocks[7].
4. **Monitor Connection**: Regularly check the connection stability and speed to optimize mining performance[6].
5. **Security Practices**: Use a firewall to protect your mining network and regularly update its rules[1].

is it worth the consequences of you getting caught?
low time rpeference > high time preference
I’m not a bitaxe expert, but how’s the setup?
Assuming:
(you)A—fw—internet—B(bitaxe)
If you have access to an ssh server from A, and that server can connect to B, you can always go through any open port in fw to the ssh server, and open a tunnel through it to B.
Fuck that firewall.
Also: if you use an ssh tunnel through any well known port you’re not getting caught. Ssh is fully encrypted, no one can see that traffic, except that it’s ssh going through a port.
Worst case scenario: “oh yeah I was testing my home ssh proxy, I’m an infosec enthusiast tee-hee, just sending cute cat pictures, don’t mind me”.
My problem is bitaxe runs on Wi-Fi and I’m on an enemy network.
Bitcoin is for enemies 😂
I need a way load a vpn on bitaxe or maybe proxy to a mining pool.
Ocean.xyz and most other mining sites are blocked by the firewall which didn’t stop the miner, but now I think they’re blocking ports.
An easy workaround might be to create a hotspot on my phone and have it connect to that as it’s Wi-Fi.
Thanks for the suggestion!

I see, you’d need a pc or laptop to act as proxy/tunnel for my solution to work.
Are you running a bitcoin node?
Maybe you could use bitcoin knots, Datum and mine with Ocean’s pool?
