How much is a sat worth? I am assuming it's pretty small if people are throwing them around on here, right?

1 BTC = 100,000,000 SATS

3,436 sats = $1 :)

The value floats relative to “fiat” currencies. Here’s a simple converter.

will hopefully be worth more in the coming years when the bitcoin price rises.

1 sat = 1 sat

Of course, we always say that here.

You can check it at https://xsats.net

Currently it’s about $0.0003.

Sounds like it's actually less than that!

By my math, you need about 34 sats to = even 1 penny!

This is the current value. #bitcoin Is limited in supply and will increase in value over time compared to dollars which are not scarce. The value in your sats will increase dramatically in value over time as people begin adopting bitcoin and the amount available to be mined continues to be reduced.

Scarcity + adoption. It's still very early with this new money. #hodl

A satoshi, or "sat," is the smallest unit of bitcoin and is named after Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous person or group of people who developed Bitcoin. One bitcoin is equivalent to 100 million satoshis, so the value of a single satoshi is dependent on the current market price of a bitcoin.

For example, if 1 Bitcoin were worth $30,000 USD, 1 satoshi would be worth $0.0003 USD ($30,000 divided by 100,000,000).

You can do the math pretty easily. Take the current price /100,000,000.

For instance, the current price is ~$29,100. That means 1 sat is currently priced at ~$0.000291

If you believe the way many of us do that Bitcoin is likely to grow in value over time, though, then the current price isn't all that relevant. You just keep stacking. 1 sat = 1 sat

3443 hard money sats for green paper garbage IOUs for nothing.

It means as much as you value it. Simple as that.

That's not so simple. Maybe I want to save some of it for the future, so I value that more, but a good chunk of it I value based on how many groceries it can buy me now. 😅

See? Your answer says it all. So you value saving more than zapping here and there, which is a good thing.

Work, earn, and save. Zap can wait.
