When I first joined up nostr wasn’t too easy to use on iOS, maybe that was a bottleneck? It’s much better now

Maybe. I suspect lack of engagement compared to Twitter was a problem too.

People that checked out Nostr and didn't like it need to check again every couple of months because clients are drastically improving over time.

Lack of engagement falls back to proof of work, since we have no algos to do it for you.

I completely agree, I stuck with it but I can see why people didn’t if they were used to polished end products. Everything here is new and growing

This could have also contributed, plus the scope of topics was fairly tight.

Yeah, the Android client scene is still evolving as well. I’m possibly going back to using web-based clients and ephemeral keypairs.

PWAs seem to be the true way forward, but apps just feel like such a clean experience once they are established
