Frankly, I fuss over the future of #Nostr. Onboardung is still clunky, so normies see Nostr as a bitcoiner thing, much like we see Farcaster as a weird crypto thing
There's no incentive for normies to switch from Twatter or BlueSky
#grownostr

Nostr IS a bitcoiner thing. I donāt think onboarding is that hard though. Creating a profile in a #nostr client is easier than creating a user/password pair on any other platform. All you need to save is one string and thatās it basically.
The incentive comes from the content. #nostr is 99% about #bitcoin and how to #grownostr. Thatās not a bad thing, not itās not something that will attract users outside of the bitcoin community.
I wouldnāt call them normies though and that implies bitcoin users are not normal š
I disagree
Onboarding is hard because of the whole keypair thing. It's not intuitive
You donāt need to deal with the key pair thing unless you change devices or clients. A normal user just needs to click create account, ignore the key thing, add a user name and is ready to go. Many twitter users donāt know their password and if they canāt recover it, they just make a new account.
I actually think Nostr has the easiest onboarding even. When explained simply:
1) Download Primal
2) Generate NSEC (don't lose, don't share).
3) Start posting.
Onboard in under 20sec just like it should be.
The confusion I get from others lies in the Nostr's structure. The "well how does it work if it's decentralized" or "what are clients, relays, protocols, zaps, events, etc".
I just skip explaining all that at the start so they can just use it first. Let them fill in the blanks later via exploration.
