The difference between a 2.0 mm and a 1.5 mm hook and a fingering weight yarn and size 10 crochet thread 🤯. My Texas wasn't small enough, so I tried the crochet thread I had for something else. I'm making a green and a blue one and I think this is closer to what I imagined. #crochet #crochetstr #texas #yarn #sizedoesmatter

envious of your symmetry.

then again, i did make my own hooks and use hand spun wool yarn to start. 🤷

That's hard core 💪🔥. Hand spun is so very nice in it's irregularity. And I am so jealous, I want to make my own hooks. Did you carve them or use a pen lathe?

we have lots of alder trees. many of the branches are straight, with uniform grain. i just kept trying, until i approached something usable. i figure if i can teach myself how to make them and use them, it will be something

Very cool.

Wow, big difference. Why a Texas?

It's for the exchange student my sister has and his little brother. Just a fun Texas things keepsake 🤷‍♀️. He enjoyed all the Texas stuff at Buc-ees quite a bit, lol. I figure teenage boys aren't really in to wearables, if nothing else maybe his mom will like it 😂.

That’s very cool of you. 👍

My hands don't think so right now 😂
