Curious if you have any resources for good used radios for new hams?

My ideal setup would be a man bag I could put in my car, or use at my apartment, but open to handhelds too.

The Tech Prepper on YouTube has a lot of great content on this style of radio.

This should get you started:

Eham.net and HRO.com arent bad sites to use for equipment. DXengineering if youre in a big money soending mood. Good luck on the test.

Remember you can build your own resonant antennas for way cheaper than what MSRP is

Yes! He is where I learned about the all in one bags! Great resource.

Maybe something like a Baofeng UV-5RA? I carry a few in my kit.

Check with any local ham clubs first. Someone might even gift you one.

Good idea! There are 3 clubs in my area, will email and ask about used equipment.

Thanks!

I may end up just doing a handheld for now, something to cut my teeth on.
