baby sleeper is done! I made up the pattern on my own with a dash of winging it. I'm really happy with how it came out 🥰 details below!

This project was inspired by a sleeper that my mom got for baby. it was convertible to have legs or to have it straight like a sleep sack. not sure how practical it is but I just really liked the concept and had to try it.
the sleeper is fastened with snaps. usually snaps aren't used in knitted garments because snaps put a lot of wear on button bands and they can rip right now. I reinforced them by knitting them in linen stitch and also sewing on fabric. very stable fabric for snaps.
I ended up knitting the sleeves pretty short and didn't do the fold over mitten like I mentioned in a previous note. I think it would have been too bulky since multiple layers are involved. I think these will be full or 3/4 sleeves. honestly, baby proportions are a mystery to me so who knows really.
I'm so glad to be done with it. It's so cute and now I can start another new knitting project!
Good pattern and design. Snaps are nightmare when the kids are kicking and crying. Buttons are easy with knits.

yeah I've heard a lot of debate between the button, snap, zipper and magnet gangs. I'm gonna try all of them and see which one works for me. (except magnets)
Nice, not heard of magnetic buttons
yeah they're pretty neat and very easy to use. I've heard parents swear by it.
